Tailor your stay to your needs thanks to the Tourism and Handicap label!
Who is this label designed for?
This label is intended for customers with special needs, to ensure they receive reliable information about accessibility during their vacation and at leisure facilities. It covers four types of impairment: motor, mental, hearing and visual.
The list of professionals eligible for the label is very long (rated accommodation, restaurants, sites and places of interest, leisure attractions, tourist office, etc.)
To ensure the reliability of the information concerning the accessibility of our sites, accommodation and tourist facilities, while taking into account all types of impairment (hearing, mental, motor and visual).
To ensure disabled people can enjoy optimum autonomy during their leisure activities and vacation. To increase the number of suitable tourist attractions included as part of a general range of services, by promoting use of the label.
For tourism professionals, this is an advantage. The Tourism and Handicap label is first of all a form of recognition: it acknowledges the efforts of tourism professionals in relation to accessibility and their reception of customers with special needs. All service providers who apply for the label are in fact asserting their action and support for accommodating people with disabilities.
A tourist office accessible to all
The Quercy Caussadais Tourist Office was granted the government Tourism and Handicap label for the four types of disability on July 4, 2020. Our team is aware of the specific needs of people with disabilities, and does everything it can to make its buildings accessible to not only all those wishing to stay in Quercy Caussadais, but also its residents and those simply passing through. We welcome everyone personally and efficiently whatever their disability.
We also have a specially trained Tourism and Handicap point of contact: Emmanuelle Trinchieri, +33 (0)5 63 26 04 04.
Accessible sites
Les Syriades furnished tourist accommodation
Located just over a mile from Caussade, this traditionally built house has a private garden of over 20,000 sq.ft. Access is facilitated by a step-free entrance and a single-story interior. Everything is designed to be convenient and comfortable. The soft colors in each room promote well-being.
Lac du Malivert
The Lac du Malivert is a must-see site in Quercy Caussadais with a “pavillon bleu” environmental quality label for the quality of its water. It is a place where you can relax, have fun and swim with family or friends, as a couple, or alone… And the good news is that it’s accessible to people with reduced mobility thanks to a Tiralo beach chair available free of charge for people with disabilities. The Tiralo chair can be used on both the beach and in water. Don’t forget to ask for it at the lifeguard hut!
