Visit

“Green Vacation Resort”

Sitting at the foot of the upper town, with half-timbered houses several hundred years old, Molières is a vacation destination for the whole family.

The Malivert leisure center, set around a lake covering 9 hectares and with a “pavillon bleu” environmental quality label for the quality of its water, enjoys an exceptionally calm setting set among greenery.

Its campsites, quality cottages, local products, landscapes and typical houses bear witness to a countryside art of living. The rolling, green and predominantly agricultural Molières landscape is a particularly suitable choice for hiking. Its

small paths, hedges, copses and cultivated fields are all great places for walking.

A turbulent history

At the beginning of the Christian era, the Cadourques, the Gallic people of Quercy, chose the site for its elevated and easily defensible position, overhanging the valleys of Lemboulas and Petit Lembous. The Roman occupation and the period of prosperity were conducive to trade, opening up communication routes. “Moleriis” became an obligatory passage between Tolosa (Toulouse) and Divona (Cahors).

After a few centuries of unrest and insecurity, during the “Great Invasions,” the beginning of the 12th century marked the return of prosperity for Molières. Its fertile land provided cereals which, when ground in the numerous mills lining the streams, produced exceptional flour.

When you need a break

The lake is accessible all year round and outside the opening hours during the summer season. Access is free for people wishing only to fish.

Need some space?

Head for the Lac de Molières and its fine sand beach. Classified a “pavillon bleu” site for the quality of its water and accessible to people with reduced mobility, the area has been specially designed to welcome you: outdoor games, snack bar and picnic tables, paddle boats, a fitness trail, etc.

And after your swim?

Bring your senses to life… Visit the Ferme du Coutié, the kind of authentic farm inn that we all love. The Lafargue family will welcome you to their farm and show you its specialties: confit delicacies, homemade croustade, and more.

A delightful night
